FE Exams In 2021 – New Changes

April 20, 2021 by Anthony Fasano, P.E. Leave a Comment

In this week’s Pass the FE Exam article (and video above), I am going to provide you with a COVID-19 update on the FE Exams in 2021, and talk about what you need to know if you are planning or have already booked your FE Exam.

It is likely for you to have questions about the status of your FE Exams in 2021, like, what is the status, will it require scheduling new exam appointments at this time? The status of Pearson’s global test delivery is changing rapidly due to the spread of COVID-19.

The Pearson VUE-owned test centers are continuing to monitor the situation and make decisions about test center operations in accordance with government and local authorities.

On March 16, 2021 The NCEES Reported That The Pearson UE Test Centers Are Increasing Their Capacity

As vaccines are distributed and cases of COVID-19 continue to decline, many state and local governments are easing operational and capacity restrictions, meaning Pearson VUE can increase the number of examinees allowed in testing rooms.

If you attempted to register for a computer-based exam in the past and could not find an appointment that fit your schedule, I suggest that you check again in the coming days and weeks as more appointments become available.

Visit the Pearson VUE coronavirus update page for the most current information on test center operations.

NCEES COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire

Examinees scheduled to test during the April pencil-and-paper exam administration are required to print and complete the NCEES COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire prior to arriving at the exam site. The completed questionnaire, along with your exam authorization and valid ID, is required for admittance to the exam site.

All exam site locations will administer exams in accordance with NCEES COVID-19 exam site procedures. Examinees will be required to wear face masks at all times. You can visit the April pencil-and-paper exam administration page for the most current information on the exam administration and COVID-19 exam site procedures.

How Will You Know If Your Exam Is Cancelled?

You will receive an email cancellation notice and you will either receive a refund (if paid to Pearson VUE) or an extension as determined by your exam sponsor. You can also log in to your Pearson VUE account to see if you can still see your upcoming exam appointment.

If you are still able to see your upcoming exam appointment, please expect your exam to go ahead as planned, but with additional health and safety measures in place.

So for those of you that are scheduled to take the exam on April 22nd or 23rd, good luck and we wish you all the best in your exam.
